We've got quite the lineup ready for Lori Rader-Day's Book Launch Party! We'll kick off the festivities with a quick meet + greet mix n' mingle for the first half hour while guests arrive, then jump right into an author panel conversation with Lori and other mystery writers Lina Chern, Tracy Clark and Mia P. Manansala to learn more about Wreck Your Heart and other riveting reads during the next hour. After the writers wrap up their talk, guests will get a chance to listen to live country music and partake in an *optional* line dancing lesson with Brenda Perez de Tejada of Conscious Choreo Co. around 4 pm to get inspired by the story! There will also be a New Book Joy bookish pop-up shop where guests can buy a signed copy of Wreck Your Heart along with a curated collection of other featured titles and themed reading pairings available for purchase too. AND... Since this is a celebration, guests are invited to grab a bevy (including craft beer, other bevys and NA options!) from Une Annee Brewery to enjoy before, during or after our bash. Come for all or part of the fun - it'll be a blast!

Lori Rader-Day lives in Chicago, where she runs the Midwest Mystery Conference and teaches writing at Northwestern University. She has won the Mary Higgins Clark, the Agatha, and three Anthony Awards and has been nominated for the Edgar, Thriller, Macavity, Barry and Lefty Awards. Her new book, Wreck Your Heart, about a country and midwestern singer in Chicago, received starred reviews from both Publishers Weekly and Library Journal.

Lina Chern is the author of Play the Fool, winner of the 2024 Mary Higgins Clark Award and nominee for the 2024 Lefty and Anthony Awards. A sequel, Tricks of Fortune, is now available. Lina has also written trivia questions, poetry, word puzzles for a TV game show, paranormal romances, dialogue for your favorite comic book characters, award-winning movie reviews, and poems that have been published and read by up to dozens of people. 

Tracy Clark, a native Chicagoan, is the award-winning author of the Cass Raines Chicago
Mystery series and the Detective Harriet Foster series, both set in Chicago. She is a multi-nominated Anthony, Lefty, Edgar, International Thriller Writers, Macavity, and Shamus Award finalist. Tracy is also the 2020 and 2022 winner of the G.P. Putnam’s Sons Sue Grafton Memorial Award, the 2022 Sara Paretsky Award, the 2024 Lefty Award for Best Mystery Novel and the 2024 and 2025 Anthony Award for Best Paperback Original. She is a member of Crime Writers of Color, Mystery Writers of America and Sisters in Crime and sits on the board of the Midwest Mystery Conference.

Mia P. Manansala (she/her) is a writer from Chicago who loves books, baking, and bad-ass women. She is the author of the multi-award-winning Tita Rosie’s Kitchen Mystery series and the YA novel, DEATH IN THE CARDS. She uses humor (and murder) to explore aspects of the Filipino diaspora, queerness, and her love for Millennial pop culture.
