Local Readers (GROWN-UPS 21+) - Join us on-the-road at the American Writers Museum for a holiday pop-up Book Fair featuring New Book Joy and other local independent Chicago book stores. Get into the holiday spirit, finish your holiday shopping & mix and mingle with fellow bookworms! Enjoy beer, wine, and the night’s specialty cocktail, The Snowflake, a sweet, sour, and frosty winter cocktail. Plus, be on the lookout for the big man in red for photos and holiday stories!

Local Readers (GROWN-UPS 21+) - Hop on a holiday trolley ride from bookstore to bookstore for a festive shopping adventure filled with stories and cheer! This FIRST-EVER Chicagoland Holiday Bookstore Trolley brings together 43 indie bookstores across the city and suburbs for an extra-special book crawl experience. There are 10 trolley routes and each route stops at 4-5 participating independent bookstores. We're proud to not only be on one but TWO routes this year for both our Chicago and Brookfield Booktiques (see poster below for our Brookfield route)! Participants will get a swag bag & exclusive discounts or goodies from each participating location (see poster above for New Book Joy perks). Get your favorite holiday sweater ready...

Young Readers (Kiddos of ALL AGES) - Join us for a festive holiday story time reading adventure! This sweet event includes a special read-aloud of gingerbread-inspired stories, jumbo gingerbread cookie decorating fun with Sherry from Frost With Us and *optional* open play time at The Social Play*. There will also be a mini pop-up shopping experience of our other favorite sweet stories and paired small-business goodies from our New Book Joy Booktique PLUS additional mini take home frosting kits from Frost with Us too. KIDS OF ALL AGES ARE WELCOME, as long as they’re accompanied by a parent, aunt/uncle, grandparent, or guardian and *KIDS AGES 5 AND UNDER ARE INVITED TO OPEN PLAY TIME!
