FRIDAY, JANUARY 9TH / 5-7 PM / READERS + MAKERS BOOKISH DIY EVENT EXPERIENCE: NEW BEGINNINGS BOOK CHAT + VISION BOARD WORKSHOP @ JUST WALLPAPER IN BROOKFIELD
Local Readers + Art Lovers (GROWN-UPS 21+) - Join us on-the-road for our Readers + Makers Bookish DIY Event Experience... Local wallpaper whisperer Julia Hamilton (and maybe even her fabulous business partner Kate Sanderson, if we're lucky!) from Just Wallpaper will be demonstrating how to create 2026 vision boards by collaging beautiful prints with a variety of other mixed media while Mandy from New Book Joy shares inspiring books about new beginnings to get us ready for the New Year ahead. You'll get to make your own collage(s) and take home your artwork, add some inspirational stories to your TBR list and purchase any titles that speak to you from our mini bookish pop-up shop assortment, PLUS ask any home-decor questions you might have for either of our experts too! NOTE: A percentage of the proceeds for this event will directly support these talented artists and their small business.

Local Readers (GROWN-UPS 21+) - Get cozy with us at Tesserae Studios in Edgebrook & get a taste of some beautiful local artwork & themed sips (from our friends at Bottles & Cans!) inspired by the characters, plots & settings of the story (BYOB is welcomed in this space as well) while we discuss My Friends by Fredrik Backman & mingle! A *MINI BOOK FAIR POP-UP* with curated books and reading pairings will be set up for shopping after the event, so guests can stock up on their favorite bookish goodies to take home with them. You’ll get a SWAG BAG + EXCLUSIVE DISCOUNTS FROM OUR BOOKTIQUE too...

SUNDAY, JANUARY 11TH / 2:30-6 PM / BOOK LAUNCH PARTY FOR WRECK YOUR HEART @ UNE ANN ÉE BREWERY IN NILES
Local Readers (GROWN-UPS 21+) - Join us in celebrating local Chicago author Lori Rader-Day's NEW mystery at Une Annee Brewery in Niles! We've got quite the lineup ready for this Book Launch Party! We'll kick off the festivities with a quick meet + greet mix n' mingle for the first half hour while guests arrive, then jump right into an author panel conversation with Lori and other mystery writers Lina Chern, Tracy Clark and Mia P. Manansala to learn more about Wreck Your Heart and other riveting reads during the next hour. After the writers wrap up their talk, guests will get a chance to listen to live country music and partake in an *optional* line dancing lesson with Brenda Perez de Tejada of Conscious Choreo Co. around 4 pm to get inspired by the story! There will also be a New Book Joy bookish pop-up shop where guests can buy a signed copy of Wreck Your Heart along with a curated collection of other featured titles and themed reading pairings available for purchase too. AND... Since this is a celebration, guests are invited to grab a bevy (including craft beer, other bevys and NA options!) from Une Annee Brewery to enjoy before, during or after our bash.

Our very own Mandy Genge will be sharing the hottest new titles and recently released must-reads to get us all ready for the New Year ahead. We'll have book recommendations for every type of reader, featuring a variety of genres (including YA!) and subjects so you will go home with some spectacular stories on your TBR list! Each guest will get a *SURPRISE* NBJ GOODIE that pairs with one of the featured books from the book chat and an EXCLUSIVE DISCOUNT on any titles that are available for purchase from our mini bookish pop-up shop assortment.
