Local Readers (GROWN-UPS 21+) - Join us for our first Book Swap Mix + Mingle! Bring your own new or gently used book to swap with any other books that are brought to this event (or any extra titles that we have available for the swap). Don't worry, you'll get to browse all the books and chat with local book lovers about their titles before swapping... Stick around to shop after you swap & GET EXCLUSIVE DISCOUNTS too! (NOTES: This month's theme features Dark & Twisty Tales in celebration of Spooky Season, but feel free to bring a title from any genre. Pre-reading is not required!)

Local Readers (GROWN-UPS 21+) - Join us for a FREE Silent Book Club Experience! Once a month we will keep our Reading Lounges open from 4-5 pm for an additional private hour of reading time so 15 LUCKY READERS can enjoy some quiet self-care, on us! Choose to read in any of our upstairs or downstairs reading nooks (first come, first served)...
There will be an *optional* 30 minute soirée and shopping party after each event from 5-5:30 pm so that readers can have the opportunity mix and mingle with other local Chicago / Chicagoland book lovers to talk about what they're reading and/or GET 10% OFF STORE-WIDE if they choose to shop our curated selection of books and reading pairings afterwards!

Local Chicago mixologist (Courtney Bay) will be demonstrating how to craft 1950's Harlem-inspired cocktails from curated drink recipes that compliment the featured story from 4-5 pm in our New Book Joy Reading Lounge (right before our book discussion from 5-6 pm). You'll get to taste her custom creations and ask any questions you might have too!
